PERFORMANCES
- ARJUN KAPOOR Arjun kapoor proves himself as an actor and done his job decently. He lived his character as maratha warrior. He did'nt changed his accent into marathi yet his act satisfies us. Career best for him.
- KRITI SANON Kriti shines as parvathi bai. She gave her career best act and completely proves that she can play periodic characters. She looked beautiful as parvathi bai.
- SANJAY DUTT Sanjay dutt as ahmad shah abdali completely amazes us as beast. He proves yet again that he is the one and only "khalnayak" here. Each and every move of him shines in the film and enough to make audience shiver.
- MOHNISH BAHL , Mohnish bahl as Nana saheb peshwa clearly wins the heart. Although his character is not much shown on run time but enough to prove him.
- Padmini kohlapure as Gopibai , did her job decently.
- Sahil salathia as Shamsher Bahadur shines as an actor and Abhishek Nigam as vishwas rao debuted perfectly as required.
- There is a huge cast in the film and they are all delighted to watch. Performances is positive highlight for this film.
Direction
- Ashutosh Gowariker made for an realistic informative film but i guess the slow narration has gone a bit wrong for this epic story.
- The first half is decently engaging and focuses on building up the battle . but the second half again focuses on the build up from start which is actually the problem. The characters are not really written well in the yet Ashutosh somehow managed to engage us with impactful scene but the editing eats the positive of these scenes.
- The film could have edited almost 30 minutes lesser. And could have finished in 2 hours 25-35 mins.
- Still the detailing in the film is beautiful and rest of the departments some how gave best.
- The film is made on true events and not commercialised at all and made for more information and less entertainment....
- The film glorifies the complete journey of Sada Shiv bhau and his force from Pune to Panipat with storytelling in depth.
OTHER TECHNICAL ASPECTS
- Costumes are beautiful.
- Sets are larger than life.
- Cinematography is impressive.
- VFX in final battle is weak but for rest of the film it does justice.
- The build up for war is good but this point also takes the film a bit down
- Arjun and kriti 's chemistry is good which makes a curve of smile in between.
- Less entertaining but highly informative.
ACTION
- The action disappointed me personally but two scenes are well shot where sada shiv bhau takes on opposite army and Kriti Sanon sword fighting . BEAUTIFUL !!
- Although this battle of Panipat is biggest battle in Indian history so we can expect more from the battle. Yet the makers tried to make it less commercialised so it completely did justice to this fact.
Watch it or Watch Out
- If you want to know about the biggest battle in history of India; if you are Sanjay Dutt, Kriti Sanon, or Arjun Kapoor fan; And if you like periodic drama film with slow narration go for it
- ONE TIME WATCHABLE And gives a mixed feeling but satisfies your greed for knowledge .
