- Film had to go through multiple changes in its theatrical release date .
- Film was firstly scheduled to release in November 2019 , but Ayushmann Khurrana's Bala (2019) was also scheduled to release in the same month . Therefore , film was postponed to 24 April .
- Then , the film was again preponed to 28 February .
- Finally , 17 April was decided as the correct release date for the film .
- However , due to corona virus pandemic , film could not hit the theaters on 17 April 2020 as well since government declared shut down of theaters , pan India .

- In order to increase their revenue as well as the reach of the film , producers of Gulabo Sitabo instead of an OTT exclusive release on Amazon Prime Video , preferred a combination of digital and satellite release of the film .
